Books that Will Have Your Baby On-Board by Kristen Weber

I just had my first baby, and one of my favorite parts so far (out of many!) is reading to her. At first, she’d fall asleep by page two. She snoozed through many classics like Madeline and Harold and the Purple Crayon. But now, as she’s becoming more alert, she’s making it through entire books and even responding with smiles and giggles. Here are the books that are getting the biggest responses:

Llama Llama Red Pajama By Anna Dewdney
Mama Llama tucks her baby boy into bed…but then things go horribly wrong when he calls for her and she doesn’t answer! It’s so much fun to watch my baby giggle as Baby Llama whips himself into a tailspin over
where Mama could be. Plus, it ends with a great lesson – Mamas always come through!

Bunnies for Tea By Kate Stone

This chunky board book is shaped like a teacup! What more do you need? But it also tells a delightful rhyming tale of a super fun bunny tea party. Of course, there are hazards like when one bunny falls into the tea…but luckily, the party goes on…and–spoiler alert–no one gets hurt!

Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You: Dr. Seuss’s Book of Wonderful Noises

This one is a real crowd-pleaser. Watching mom try to make all the
sounds that Mr. Brown can make (from rain drops to horse feet to
popping corks) sends my little one into fits of giggles. Plus, it’s
fun for adults to wonder why the very serious looking Mr. Brown has
such talents.

Dear Child By John Farrell

This is a more serious one to take the party down a notch and prepare your baby for bed. With the heartwarming message of how adults are forever changed by the birth of a child, it still has brightly colored pictures to keep your baby’s interest. And your baby will never get tired of hearing how much they mean to you.

What books do read to your baby? Which are your favorites? And, of course, which titles does your baby prefer?
