My Nightstand, My Corner of the Bedroom by Hanna Martine

Hanna Martine’s newest release, The Good Chase, is a contemporary romance starring a heroine who is the country’s preeminent whiskey expert, and a hero who makes a ton of money on Wall Street during the week and becomes a rugby bruiser on the weekends. In honor of its publication, Hanna shares the books filling her corner of her bedroom.

My nightstand is more of a wall-stand—a wood shelf attached to the wall on my side of the bed, right at eye level. It holds a clock and a sleep machine that has the most wonderful set of sounds to fall asleep to. It also has a tiny notebook and pen in case an idea for a book comes to me when I’m too lazy to get out of bed. But of course the most important things are books, right? My Kindle gets prime space on my wall-stand, but I also have a reading lamp for when I crack open a physical book. I easily go back and forth between the two formats. Here’s what I’m reading (and going to read next).

The Queen’s Bastard, by C.E. Murphy. A fantasy in pseudo-historical Europe that’s been on my paperback TBR forever. I like to dig through my TBR and finally pick up a book I’ve been eyeing for a long time. The concept of this one sounds fascinating, and I always love to read outside of romance as much as I can. The prologue is so intriguing, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten so far. Onward!

Magic Breaks, by Ilona Andrews. Ahhhh! Can’t wait to get into Kate Daniels’ latest mess, er, story. This series has been one of my favorites since book two. I love the tangles Kate finds herself in, and Andrews always crafts such brilliant conclusions. Andrews has managed to grab both urban fantasy and romance readers with this series, and the world is so rich.

Either The Winter Sea or The Firebird by Susanna Kearsley. I have both on my Kindle and I can’t decide! I’ve wanted to read Kearsley ever since we sat across from each other at the huge Romantic Times Booklovers Convention book signing and used white erase boards to tell jokes to one another. Ha! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about her writing, and I can’t wait to dive in.
